We are able to develop in HTML, but prefer to develop sites using Content Management Systems (CMS) as it allows our clients to maintain the content themselves without requiring expert assistance, once the initial site construction is complete. We use the Joomla! CMS, as we have found it to work extremely well, both from our perspective and also that of our clients. Long term, it means that our clients only need to pay for extra work to be done should they need further major development work rather than having to call (and pay) every time some text needs to be changed on a page.
When developing sites we use open-source software as much as possible. This is something that we believe in philosophically, but it also makes good business sense. Open-source software is free of charge and is of a very high standard. Joomla! is open-source software and it is very easy to use. Occasionally it is necessary to add additional components to the open-source software. Some of these do have a cost associated with them but this is usually minimal.
We work on a development server which can be viewed only by those who know the address for it and we do not make any changes to your existing site until the new site is ready to go live. This means that you are able to view work in progress and provide feedback as the site is in development, rather than getting to the end of the job and realising that something needs to change.
Before your site goes live, we will thoroughly test it across multiple operating systems and browsers. This means it has the best chance possible of working and displaying properly for the most possible visitors.
When the site goes live, we will submit it to Norton Safe Web and McAfee Site Advisor for verification (and proof to your visitors) that your site is safe.
Upon site hand-over, you will be presented with a customised user guide to help you through learning how to use your new site. Telephone and email support is provided and on-site support can be given if necessary (although this is charged at our normal rate). You will also be provided with back-end access for those users who require it.
Sites that we develop in Joomla! will automatically have the appropriate security updates applied for a period of 12 months from the date of hand-over of the site. Sites that we develop and host will automatically have Joomla! security updates applied for the duration of their hosting. We develop in the most recent version as far as possible.

If you have a site that is already written in HTML or Dreamweaver we are able to undertake work to change it if necessary. We can also provide you with a quote to change it to a CMS if you desire. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
