If you have a website, it has to be hosted somewhere. This means it has to be on a server (a really powerful computer) in a secure location, that can cope with multiple simultaneous connections. Your home computer is not going to be able to do this.
Can you connect me to the Internet?
Sorry, no we can't. We are not an ISP (Internet Service Provider). The ISP is the organisation that connects your home or office to the Internet (such as Optus, TPG, Telstra etc). We only host sites for organisations and individuals.
If you want to sign up, please click on the Web Site Hosting menu item, then select Personal Plans or Business Plans. You will then see a page setting out what is available on each plan, and how much it costs. If you can't find the information you need, or you really aren't sure what is suitable for you, please Contact Us.
A domain is the Internet presence of an organisation that owns a website. For example, airgeadstudio.net is our domain. A domain does not have to have an actual website attached to it, it can be used as a placeholder. For example, we also own airgeadstudio.com. It does not have its own content, but instead gets redirected to our airgeadstudio.net address. Owning a domain means that you can also have email addresses attached to the domain (eg This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). This means that you do not have to change your email address if you change your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
A URL is a Uniform Resource Locator. This is the actual address of a website (eg: www.airgeadstudio.net). It is similar to an address on a letter and indicates its destination. It tells the Internet what site you want to go to.
Can I buy a domain through you?
Yes you can. Please click on the Domain Names menu item to go to the Domain Names page, or go directly to http://domains.airgeadstudio.net. You will be able to safely and securely purchase your new domain through this part of our site.
Domain costs vary a little, but for a basic .com or .com.au address the cost is A$15 per year. Please note that .au registrations (of any type) have a minimum two (2) year registration.
I already have a domain - what do I do now?
You need to have hosting for your domain. If you buy your hosting through us, you have two options for your domain. You can leave your domain where it is and repoint your Domain Name Server (DNS) record to our Domain Name Servers, or you can transfer the domain registration over to us. In either case, you will need select the option of "Use a previously registered domain name" on the signup pages for hosting.
I want to repoint my DNS record - where should it point to?
You will need to repoint to ns1.airgeadstudio.net and ns2.airgeadstudio.net.
SSL (Secure Socket Layers) Certificates are the certificates bought by websites to secure part or all of a website. For example, if you are purchasing items from a website via your credit card, the page where you enter your credit card details should have https://, not http:// at the start of the URL. Sometimes there may also be a padlock symbol at the bottom of your browser window. If it is locked, the site is secure; if it is unlocked or has a red circle with a white ! in it, the site is unsecure.
Can I buy SSL Certificates through you?
Yes you can. Please click on the SSL Certificates menu item to go to our SSL Certificates page, or go directly to http://domains.airgeadstudio.net and select Hosting -> SSL Certificates from the menu. Our pricing is very competitive and is available on that page. We resell for Aust Domains, so your final certificate will be issued by them.
